You've got questions, and we're here to help. Take a look through some of the most frequent questions we hear, and if the answer you need isn't there then give us a call.

  • Open enrollment is the annual opportunity to enroll in a private health insurance plan or renew or make changes to a current plan. MNsure annual open enrollment November 1-December 15, while Medicare AEP (Annual Enrollment Period) is October 15-December 7.

If you experience a major life event, such as having a baby, getting married or losing your job, you may qualify to enroll in private health insurance outside the annual open enrollment period. Contact our office with questions.

  • Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts that individuals must withdraw annually from most retirement accounts, such as traditional IRAs, once they reach a certain age. The purpose of RMDs is to ensure that retirement savings are eventually taxed, as the contributions to these accounts were typically tax-deferred.

For most individuals, the RMD age is 73. These distributions must be taken by the end of the year, but we recommend taking them by December 15th.

  • Generally, withdrawals made before age 59½ from traditional and Roth IRAs are considered early distributions and subject to a 10% penalty, in addition to being taxed as ordinary income.

  • No, we do not accept fund requests using texting or email. For your security, any fund requests must be made either over the phone or in person.
